Della Seaton, MA, LPC

I work with individual adults experiencing various life issues such as depression, grief, self-esteem, and life transitions.

I also enjoy outpatient support for individuals experiencing mental illness. Mental illness does not lessen the value of the individual even though it can make life more difficult. My goal is to help you know that you are valuable just as you are, help you build a support system, establish coping skills and contingency planning. This includes education and referrals for individuals dealing with mental illness as well as their families, to support groups and information resources. I offer crisis phone appointments for an additional fee.

I work with two couple groups; pre-marital (Prepare-Enrich), and longer-term couples who are in need of relationship assistance (Gottman):

For couples needing pre-marital I use the online Prepare-Enrich assessment followed with in session work and homework using the Prepare-Enrich workbook. P-E is designed to help couples talk through current issues, anticipate future issues in order to be prepared beforehand, and develop skills in order to work together as a team in better ways.

Gottman Couples Therapy is designed to help couples build relationships through trust, friendship, support during problems and in achieving each other's life goals, mutual knowing and understanding of each other, and developing the skills to repair damage. I use the Gottman Relationship Checkup, followed by couple sessions to practice the skills and conversations in a respectful atmosphere. I have completed the first three levels of Gottman Couple Therapy, the facilitator training for The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, and am currently working toward certification as a Gottman Couples Therapist.

I received a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management — HR with a minor in Psychology from Colorado Christian College, and a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado.

I offer 45-50 minute sessions for individuals and for pre-marital counseling. I schedule 90 minute sessions for Gottman Therapy couples. My fees are based on the length of each session. If you desire longer sessions, please feel free to contact me to make arrangements. I look forward to working with you.
